In the Beginning.
Posted in Intro: on March 18, 2009 by dayz So where have all the scary creatures, ghosts, demons, little possessed people disappeared to in this day and age? Where have all the Supernatural stuff went to? Well if you have to ask this question you clearly don’t think the CW is actually producing any good tv. Or you think a show that stars to model looking guys and produced by that hack that has brought us shit over the years is going to be a stupid show. Are all missing out on one of the best shows currently running on tv right now. The show mixes elements of shows of the past that really work. It has a touch of buffy, (but imagine buffy creatures with an actual budget) , it has a little bit of the x-files vibe-Do you believe?, it has a little bit of a hardy boys vibe (that is if the hardy boys rocked out to classic rock, drove a kick ass impala and fought evil). The real charm and selling point to this show is that it doesn’t try to over step what really works for it. It keeps the stories and tales all back allied or in little unknown locations. It picks stories that we all grew up on, like what if bloody mary really did come out of the mirror and get you. Well if you watched supernatural you would think twice about saying her name 3 times. It puts a little hesitance in the back of your mind when you think about driving to a secluded area to make out with your girl, because hook man could be there to get you. It shows you evil in everyday things that quite frankly scares the hell out of me. I’ll be honest on the surface one could just look at the show and say there is no way those two actors can carry this show, and at the beginning your right I thought the same thing. I was like these guys look passable as best in the acting department. The CWs way to get the teenage girls to tune in weekly. But as the show starts to develop into its own you start to really see these two characters shine. Because unlike other shows they really are the only characters you will ever see from episode to episode. It also helps that these episodes are truly well produced and put together. You will have the hair on the back of your neck stand up. But at the same time you will laugh your ass off at the antics of these boys throughout the course of the 5 seasons they will be around fighting things we can’t understand. This Blog is mainly as a kind of reference and discussion starter for a show that really doesn’t get enough love. Sadly I think thats only due to people passing on it because of the cover of the book. Me and some other posters will be giving those first timers/seasoned viewers a fun little episode watchers guide. This way you can go back to it when your done with the episode for the first time or just read to help refresh your memories. I am also actually looking for comments/pms if you would like to contribute to a specific episode or add something to it. I want this to be a fun idea that anyone that wants to can get a piece of. I will put up the first episode of season 1 in the kind of format I see each episode going along the lines of and would love some suggestions. |
