Review:

This episode did one thing fantastically right. It gave us some perfect brother banter that the show had been building us up slowly to start to enjoy. This show strives on its ability to make you feel for the two leads, since everyone else in the show is basically passer byes. They really are starting to show us why Dean and Sam are fun and believable to watch. This episode brought us, us our first full on demon. An evil that just does evil because it enjoys it. No Rhyme or reason just does it. Our Demon this episode has been plaguing the sky’s for decades now killing and leaving no survivors in plane crashes. When it finally does leave some behind it has to try and pick each survivor off one by one. Dean and Sam try and keep everyone off the planes but when they fail they have only one option. Full on exorcism in a plane. The episode plays on a 40 minute window of grace before terror and it set up the scenario pretty well. The episode had charm in the fact that at the same time we were focused on finding and stopping the evil, we had Dean who had never flown freaking out about the little things about flying. It just is amusing to know that his first flight had a better chance then most of crashing and he still got on board. More of a filler, setting up the world episode then anything else. It did manage to allow for a little arc building with the boys finding out that their dad has people calling them.

The good, the bad, and the Frightening.

Good: Brother’s bantering off of each other was fantastic. Also the score continues to impress me.

Bad: The actual possessions and some of the cg in this episode felt cheap. One thing about this show is overall most of the time the production value and look is awesome. I know we are only 3 episodes in but it was a little off putting.

Frightening: The whole concept of being stuck in a plane knowing that it was going to crash. Also the concept the show brings with demons and possessions is pretty great.

~back on the road again the boys go.
