Review:
Classic Hook Man
The boys this time around get to tackle another one of those fun urban legends. This time in the form of the infamous hook man. But they add their own spin on the character, making him a spirit and an ex crazy preacher. This episode is pretty straight forward with a slight twist in the middle. Father/Daughter combo over moral issues causes the Hook man to latch onto their emotions carrying out one of their orders. They kind of set it up to be the father but in the end it works out nicely that it is the daughter. This episode is the first for Sam really to get involved with the damsel in distress. Normally he takes a side seat to his brother Dean in these situations. But Sam and Lori have something in common that makes them work together. Both feel like everyone they love is dying around them and its their fault. We don’t get anything towards the main arc. But we do get one hell of a fun episode, no real scare factors. But its a lot of fun watching urban legends be played out right.

The good, the bad, and the Frightening.
Good: Hook Man characters effects and look were well done, along with making up their own version of the hook man.
Bad: Episode is pretty throwaway in the grander schemes of things. Also 22 plus sorority girls and Dean didn’t get to hit on any of them.
Frightening: The back story and set up to the character. Not to mention the hook effect as it scratched along stuff.
